The start of something wonderful…

Photo Feb 22, 7 30 24 PMIn the last few weeks something wonderful has begun for me … I had a milestone birthday. My birthdays have never bothered me, I mean having a birthday sure beats the alternative! So this one I took in stride, after all you only turn 40 once… right? My best girlfriends took great care of me with a progressive dinner that covered all over downtown and ended with a great tribute concert for Johnny Cash! It was AWESOME! We had a great time, we ate, we drank, we laughed, we walked, we rode the trolley, we ate some more, we danced and we laughed even more! I will be forever grateful for their friendships, they mean the world to Photo Feb 22, 9 01 16 PMme!

For my birthday I was blessed with many gifts. I can’t wait for spring to get here, I have lots of new garden tools to put to use! I’ll post pictures of them out  in the garden soon! I got a super cool flag tervis tumbler, that will gets lots of use at the neighbor hood parties I sure of that! My husband got me a membership to a local firing range… that might sound odd to some of you, but being the daughter of a police officer, I know my way a range and am a pretty decent shot. I will have a great time with this gift!

Photo Feb 22, 1 15 44 PMMy mother-in-law and my dad both sent cash that I put towards the purchase of a new Cricut Expression for the craft room. I am super excited about this gift because I have wanted one for so long, but never could bring myself to send the money out of our budget. After a slight bump in the road with the first one that arrived (had a damaged unit, had to send it back) I had my first opportunity to use it last night. I made several cards in record time! So looking forward to many new projects that will cPhoto Mar 14, 8 04 23 PMome out of this birthday gift!Photo Mar 14, 7 35 16 PM Photo Mar 14, 7 34 35 PM

introducing new additions to the family

To those that don’t know me too well might think that this blog title means there’s going to be tiny little feet running around our house soon, and you’d be half right … and those that do know me will know that this means that those tiny little feet are actually paws! A dear friend ours came home from trip to Texas to find the little kitten (of about 9 months) she left in the care of her husband and 3 sons was prego! I’m not saying her husband is to blame, in his defense those 3 sons are a handful!! She let me know that if we were ready to be kitty parents again we had first pick of the litter… well, as it turns out I might have been the hold up all this time for us to jump into pet parent-hood. Mike has all for it! So I told her that we would claim 2 of the little bundles when they made their appearance… then we waited for them to be born… April 19th around 5 in the evening I got the first text that the little ones were on the way! Our friend is an experienced animal person so she ha...
